Last week Nicole asked a boy to the Girl's Pref. dance at the High School. I'm sad that I didn't think to take a picture because it was cute! She got a tiny bail of hay, a pumpkin and some candy corn and made a sign that said, "Hay, Pumpkin! I know this may sound corny but will you go to girl's pref. with me?" Well, her answer came yesterday. Her friend called and asked if I could get her out of the house for about 30 minutes. It didn't turn out to be the best timing because I had to pick up Sarah and four other girls from the church (plus I had Nicole, Isaac and his friend in the car - that's NINE people in my car that seats six!) Try "killing time" with NINE people crammed into a tiny car that's on EMPTY! I kept making excuses like "I have to get something from the Primary closet" and "I need to stop at Shelly's house for a minute". Then I drove past our house and saw that Nicole's friends were still there (luckily Nicole didn't notice the car in the driveway)! When we got back home it took Nicole a while to realized that her bedroom door was taped shut - she thought Sarah and her friends did it. Then she opened the door and found this:

The sign read: "I hope you like to trick or treat. Figure out my trick and I might be your treat".
Nicole had to count how many of each type of candy there was. Each candy represented a letter and the number of each candy determined how many of that particular letter was in the sentence that she had to figure out. Does that make sense? Well, after about two hours she finally asked for a clue which was "nothing". He also said that the first word was "you". FINALLY we figured out that the message was: "You did a lot of work for nothing. Look harder".

After searching her room one more time, she finally found the answer on the back of the sign: "Yes, I will go".
I must admit that I am quite impressed with the creativity of a High School boy!

How hilarious! Poor Nicole, he really made her work for her answer. I love the cardboard and industrial looking decor. You can totally tell it was a boy who did the decorating, how fun it is to be 16!
Wow! That's pretty impressive.
How funny! It is amazing on the lengths and time they put into asking each to the dances. But it makes it fun.
How creative and what a fun guy to go through all that trouble. You couldn't pay me to go back to highschool, but I am glad that Nicole is having fun.
Thanks for posting all of Nicole's fun dance stuff. It's fun to take a stroll down memory lane!! She is such a sweet girl and you can tell she has great friends.
