Reschke sledding party

Rather than have a cousin Christmas party this year, we decided to have a cousin sledding party in January. We met at my brother Phil's house in Alpine for a wonderful breakfast before heading out to the hills for sledding. My nephew's wife made a delicious recipe of buttermilk syrup for our pancakes. It was SO yummy! You should try it sometime:

Buttermilk Syrup
1 cube butter
1 cup sugar
1 cup buttermilk
2 Tablespoons Karo syrup

Mix together and cook on medium/low heat for 5 minutes. Just before serving, add
1/2 teaspoon of baking soda and 1 teaspoon vanilla.

The kids had so much fun together! I wish that I had my video camera because a still camera just didn't capture the pure joy that was going on! After I went back to the house, the kids continued to sled. As they gradually returned, I had at least six different people say, "You should have seen Isaac go off the jump...he was airborne for a LOOONG time!" How do kids survive some of the crazy things they do?!
