Sarah and Isaac are on year-round school so they started school on July 28th and are now off track for three weeks. I wasn't sure how I would like year-round school but I can honestly say that I really like it. It's not the most convenient when trying to schedule family reunions, but we don't usually take big summer vacations so it's not usually a big issue. I really love having them off track when most other kids are in school because we get to do things without the normal summer crowds! I also look forward to the little breaks from school projects and homework, and three weeks is just the right amount of time for us to have some fun together and be more flexible with our schedules. I have also noticed that it's easier for them to pick up where they left off at the beginning of a new school year.
Isaac went to school for two days before coming down with a nasty case of strep throat, so he missed the last three days of the first week. I was a little worried about what he may have missed, including bonding with new friends, but luckily he didn't have any problems getting back into school. He and Sarah both like their new teachers and have made new friends.

Cute pictures. I love first day of school pictures. Is Michael ready? Are you ready? Im sorry I missed his farewell Sunday. I have been sick with some kind of I don't know what. Maybe I have strep throat like Isaac? I too have a sore throat, horrible cough, etc. Definately not fun!
